One Year Blogiversary!

This week marks the one year anniversary of my little corner of the blogosphere. I started this blog in hopes to encourage Christian men and women to think biblically in every area of life.

As a pastor, the unbiblical beliefs held by so many church goers is a cause of great concern to me. Don't get me wrong... most church folks don't deny Christ's deity or the existence of the devil. But the average person sitting in the pew is more influenced by the culture than by the Bible. Too often, we blindly follow what the world tells us or expects from us rather than following what Christ has commanded us. For instance, we tend to frown upon women who stay at home because the world told us that women should start careers. We tend to ignore blatant sin in our midst because the world told us not to be 'judgmental.' And we tend to keep our faith to ourselves because the world told us evangelism isn't politically correct.

As Christians, we must regain our belief in the sufficiency of Scripture. We run to science and psychology to give us the solutions to our problems. We look to popular culture to tell us how to live. Is the Word of God sufficient for all areas of life or not? You and I can open God's Word and find out how to raise our children, work our jobs, treat our neighbors, and vote in elections. You and I can find answers in our Bible on every topic from sex to eating habits! As the hymn aptly puts it, "What more can He say than to you He hath said?"

My hope is that we will rediscover the precious truths of Scripture. My hope is that we will see a resurgence of obedience to God's holy commands. My hope is that your life, your family, your church will be radically changed by the power of God's all-sufficient Word.

And I hope my blog will help.
